BREEAM, the Building Research Establishment (BRE)

Environmental Assessment Method, is the foremost

assessment method for measuring the sustainability

of non-domestic buildings.

BREEAM can be used for new-build, refurbishments

and even to assess the in-use sustainability of

non-domestic buildings.

As Local Authorities strive to develop planning polices

that enable and encourage sustainable development

BREEAM is increasingly set as a condition for new

non-domestic developments to attain Planning

Permission.

BREEAM is also used to allow organisations to demonstrate their commitments to sustainability and corporate social responsibility through their property portfolios and is being recognised as a driver for increased asset value.

BREEAM results in a rating of Outstanding, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Pass or Fail.  At CHB Sustainability we provide realistic and project specific advice from pre-assessment throughout the design and construction phases to handover to give your project the very best chance of achieving its target BREEAM rating.

We utilise an online project tracker system so that information on the BREEAM requirements, evidence and up-to-date assessment progress are available to all members of the design team at any time.  The project tracker also allows the relevant design team members to upload their evidence requirements with the minimal amount of hassle, helping to streamline the whole BREEAM assessment process.
